Northacre Properties unveil 3,218 sq ft Penthouse at The Broadway designed by Elicyon
London, 28th November 2022 – Northacre, the leading super-prime property developer with over 30 years’ experience of creating exceptional living spaces, today announces the launch of a penthouse at one of its flagship schemes, The Broadway at Orchard Place.
Located in the heart of historic Westminster, The Broadway is a new city culture and contemporary wellness destination, home to design-led residential, commercial, and retail spaces combining urban luxury and convivial style. The mixed-use development includes 258 residential one-to-five-bedroom apartments and penthouses, each with the epitome of British design innovation.
With striking architecture, 360-degree panoramic views and an incredible 1,300 sq ft wrap-around roof terrace, the 16th-floor penthouse commands some of the most striking views towards the capital. The penthouse show apartment boasts a truly unique design – transitional in style with a crisp contemporary base layered with mid- century-inspired swooping curves and warm finishes, juxtaposed with unique antiques from across the country and paired with bespoke items giving this apartment both heritage and character.
The starting point for the scheme was a beautiful Italian twentieth-century Scagliola plinth. This was the first item sourced for the apartment, setting the tone for the soft, earthy green hues of the space. The palette reflects the vision of The Broadway at Orchard Place, which is set to become a destination centred around contemporary wellness.
Each of the apartment’s four bedrooms has a neutral colour scheme in which shades of cream and white are present in varying tones and textures, to give the rooms a clean and tranquil feel. Accents of colour can be seen in the cushions, headboards and lighting features and are all tied together by the carefully selected artwork and antiques sourced predominantly through Lawford Antiques, Cramer & Bell, and 8 Holland Street. The 3,218 sq ft penthouse has been beautifully landscaped and furnished with three seating arrangements, each complimenting a different style of entertaining.
Charu Gandhi, Founder and Director of Elicyon comments “This has been an incredible project to work on, and is one of the most breath-taking apartments in terms of both views and the potential for entertaining. We took inspiration from the architectural style of The Broadway, and the building’s distinct art-deco exterior set the tone for the modern scheme seen inside the property. We wanted to add an air of heritage to the contemporary space – using warm, rich textures accented with artwork and antiques, along with strong mid-century influences to create a space with charisma and personality. To accentuate the penthouse’s finest feature, a beautifully landscaped and furnished terrace was offered; showcasing The Broadway’s unparalleled view of the London skyline.
Amy Wardell, Head of Brand, Northacre comments “What truly sets the penthouse apart is its spectacular view across London. Rising 16 floors above the city, this unique apartment offers expansive unparalleled views of London’s most treasured landmarks. Charu and her team have created a truly special apartment that compliments the striking architecture of the building and creates a warm and luxurious backdrop in which to live and entertain.”
About The Broadway at Orchard Place
The Broadway, SW1 was inspired by the Art Deco features of the neighbouring Grade I listed property, 55 Broad- way, once London’s tallest building when it was built in 1929. Northacre Properties and architectural partner Squire and Partners studied the beautifully configured architecture of 1920’s jewellery, and its contemporary interpreta- tions, as a creative direction for the development. The shapes and structures found in luxury retail form the concept for The Broadway’s interiors, and the buildings have been named after three of the world’s most revered diamonds; The Sancy, The Paragon and The Cullinan.
The interiors have been carefully considered to take advantage of the dramatic quality of light created by the unique exterior and interior architectural design and provide a real sense of space alongside an elegant colour palette and contrasting textual effects.
The Broadway provides 16,000 square feet of health, fitness and spa amenities that afford residents the chance to relax and recharge in an exceptional setting. Facilities include an elegant 25m pool, gym and personal training studio, treatment rooms and a spacious, state-of-the-art games room, that can be booked by residents as additional entertainment space, alongside well-equipped meeting rooms, screening room and extensive parking.
As the area evolves into a new thriving business and leisure district for London centred around contemporary wellness, The Broadway will add 116,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office space alongside its 27,000 square feet retail collection. The destination aims to create a sense of place and community through its dynamic new street, Orchard Place, which will provide 20,000 square feet of new public realm to the area. The site of The Broadway once served as home to the verdant orchards of Westminster Abbey. Soon it will provide a thoughtfully landscaped new street and two beautiful fourth-floor sky gardens, which will link the six residential buildings and provide an urban oasis above the bustle below for residents to enjoy.
By creating something that seamlessly integrates with the lives of London’s inhabitants and the city around it, The Broadway will bring something entirely new into the heart of one of London’s most historic areas and reflect traditional British luxury but reinvented.
The apartments range in price from £1.75m to POA and are available for immediate viewings.
