Onetrack Clubhouse at Orchard Place
An Elite Running Experience for All

Back

The Onetrack Clubhouse will pop-up for one week from 30th January – 5th February 2023 at Orchard Place, a vibrant living and lifestyle destination set to inspire wellbeing and nourish its community, located in the heart of Westminster.

During this time, runners of all abilities can experience a “Speed Shop” to learn about the value of running at different paces, including the importance of running “slow”, and understand what easy or hard should feel like for each individual. The goal is to help complete beginners feel more comfortable with speed play and more seasoned runners fine tune their paces.

Group outdoor and treadmill sessions will be on offer, as well as bespoke personal training, lactate testing and biomechanics assessments. The aim of the bespoke offering is to give runners the chance to experience more personalised MOT-style services to better understand their own physiology and function to build speed, enhance performance, support injury prevention or aid those in rehabilitation.

Elite runners rely on a spectrum of paces to aid their physiological and mechanical development – and to ensure they’re training sustainably. Going “slow” (although this word is deeply subjective) is just as important as high intensity efforts, if not more, as an elite athlete spends between 70-90% of their training week at an “easy” pace. Central to achieving this is the RPE scale (Rate of Perceived Exertion). Helping runners understand their own RPE scale from 1-10 (1 being easy and 10 being hard) builds intuition, confidence and reduces dependence on data when running, which can be problematic.

Running for Life – An Educational Mission

Running is the most popular sport in the UK and so many new and seasoned runners will already be lacing up ready to take on new challenges in the new year. Unfortunately, up to 50% of these runners will get injured this year, which has a knock-on effect for individual health – mental and physical – as well as for charities dependent on race participation. Onetrack’s goal is to keep people running for life by bringing training knowledge from the elite forefront of the sport to every runner.

Classes & Appointments Available at the Clubhouse Pop-Up

Provided by Onetrack Co-Founder, Anthony Fletcher. Former Head Coach of Precision Run at Equinox UK, Anthony is a trained Biomechanics Coach and is earning an MSc in Sports Physiology. Frequently featured in the UK media, Anthony has worked with the likes of England Rugby, Cannondale Garmin Cycling, Startrac, Triggerpoint & Dynamax and coached runners from complete beginner to Olympian.

XRun – £15 per class or free with a £25 p/m Onetrack subscription.
Onetrack’s new in-studio treadmill class format XRun, sponsored by Woodway, will allow people to explore speed, find their threshold pace and get to know their own spectrum of speed using the RPE scale (Rate of Perceived Exertion).

Lactate Testing – £80, 1 hour.
Runners often wonder if they’re going at the right speed during an easy, tempo or interval session and Lactate Testing involves being put through different speeds on a state of the art Woodway treadmill. A quick-prick blood test will then help experts analyse blood lactate levels in order to define the speeds runners should be hitting in their training programmes. Results are immediate and a coach is on hand to help with any questions.

Biomechanical Assessments – £120, 2 hours.
A Biomechanics Assessment examines the major muscles, nerves and individual bone structures, such as the pelvis, spine, shoulders, knees and feet; areas evidence has shown that cause abnormal function. Examining an individual’s Intrinsic Biomechanics, enables experts to assess potential risk of injury and performance limiters such as muscles not working properly or working too hard.

Personal Training – £80, £1hr.
After an initial discussion to understand an individual’s fitness goals, a personalised session will be created, covering mobility, strength and cardio.

Run Club Sessions – Free or £5 voluntary contribution.
Onetrack Run Club meets at the plinth on Orchard Place, Tuesdays at 6.30pm. The session lasts for 1 hour and is designed as an easy run to suit all levels of runners. After meeting, there’s a short jog or stroll to St James’s Park where a coach will guide you through a warm-up and running drills followed by laps of a 1km loop. Coach will stand in the same spot so you can choose to do as many or as little loops as you please.

For all sessions, it’s advised to come dressed to workout. To book any of the above, visit: https://www.onetrack.club/westminster-run-club
